Despite reports that he had travelled back home for his brother's burial, Nyaribo is said to be under doctors surveillance pending his discharge.

"I can assure you that he has been struggling. Doctors are still looking at the kidney even after having an operation. Hopefully it will be alright," said a source from his office.

Mr Nyaribo has been out of the country since August and is said to have undergone a major kidney operation in a New Delhi hospital.

And in a recent phone call conversation, Nyaribo remained hopeful and optimistic that he will make it despite 'tough times'.

"I am not in Kenya and I am still under medication after the surgery. I am hopeful that I will make it after all through God's grace," he said.

His brother Robert Nyaribo was laid to rest on Monday in a quiet ceremony that was attended by top county officials even as Governor John Nyagarama skipped.

In May to July this year, Nyaribo was temporarily in charge of the county following long absence of Governor Nyagarama who was also in the US for medication.
