Starting for the first time after coming in as a sub against Mathare United; Dennis Oliech scored his debut goal for Gor Mahia after 15 years' absence in the local football, to spur Gor Mahia to a 2 - 1 victory over Posta Rangers.
Despite Coach Hassan Oktay fielding an irregular side, the defending champions went on to beat Rangers, in a match that saw Rangers custodian Levis Opiyo rushed to the hospital after picking a knock on the head on the 38th minute as he tried to make a save.
Defender Charles Momanyi put K'Ogalo ahead on the 27th minute with a low drift past Opiyo, and eleven minutes later, Rangers were forced to replace the injured goalie before Francis Nambuye equalized for visitors on the 41st minute.
However, Rangers' joy was short-lived as Dennis 'the menace' Oliech fired home and restored Gor's 2 - 1 lead on the 50th minute.
This was after an additional nine extra minutes were added to recover the time taken to treat the injured Posta goalkeeper.
The second-half saw Gor slow the pace of the game and guarded its lead, a thing that secured them all the three maximum points.
The victory is a boost to Gor Mahia as they host New Star Doula of Cameroon in the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs on Sunday, at MiSC Kasarani.
Meanwhile, Posta Rangers will host Chemilil Sugar in the KPL match on the same day.
