The son of the Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, Raila Junior, has come out in defence of Siaya Senator James Orengo over the motion to impeach Deputy President William Ruto before 2022.
Odinga Junior took to social media on Wednesday where he defended Orengo, saying his entitled to his opinion. He noted that as a law abiding citizen, Orengo has a right to make such a proposal.
He, however, said that the thoughts of the senator should not be confused to those of the ODM Party.
”Senior Counsel James Orengo is within his right to bring amotion of no confidence just like any other Kenyan can do, it doesn't necessarily have to be a position of his party ODM,” he said.
In an exclusive interview on Citizen TV, Orengo revealed that Raila is not behind the motion to impeach Ruto. He assured the nation that he will share more information if Raila declares his position.
“It is me speaking, Raila Odinga has his mouth and I got my mouth. When I am speaking on behalf of Raila, which I have done before, I will say,” said Orengo.
The motion continues to cause a storm in the Jubilee team. Ruto has already revealed his plans to succeed Uhuru upon completion of his second and final term in office.
