Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has asked Kenyans to stop debating on the merits and demerits of the criminal case facing embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
Waititu said the court should be left to handle the murder case against the county boss.
Speaking to journalists in Kiambu Town on Monday, Waititu said it is not right for people to comment on a case that is yet to be concluded.
“People should stop crucifying and condemning Governor Obado and instead allow the court process to take its due course,” he said.
Waititu said that Governor Obado is innocent until proven guilty by law.
“The right and presumption of innocence should not be taken away from Obado and others facing murder charges,” he added.
He asked the family of the late Sharon Otieno to be patient and allow the law to take its course.
Obado and his two personal assistants Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero were charged last week with Sharon Otieno’s murder.
The Migori governor pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and is being remanded at the Nairobi Industrial Area prison pending his fresh bail application on October 8.
