Wanyama has been out injured for the last couple of weeks, forcing him to stay out of the club’s opening three fixtures. The fixtures are set to kick off on Tuesday 18 September, with Spurs pooled in a tough group with the likes of Spanish giants Barcelona.

Tottenham will kick off their 2018/19 Champions League campaign with an away clash against Inter Milan, before hosting the Cataluña club in their second fixture.

Wanyama has fond memories of facing Barcelona, being the first team he scored against in the Champions League in a 2-1 win with Celtic.

The North London side will then take on PSV in October in the Netherlands before welcoming them and Inter Milan in England in November. Full squad
