South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro on Monday visited Nyabigena secondary where he interacted with learners.
The MP appealed to learners to put more efforts in studies for the sake of attaining good results in national exams to join universities.
"I was once a student like you. The family background where I come from was poor but I beat all odds to study and today here I am. This is a challenge to you that you should always work hard to achieve better results," he said.
The vocal legislator reiterated that throughout his tenure he will prioritize education.
"Learners should apply for bursary funds because I will ensure every applicant is awarded the money. I will not discriminate any applicant irrespective of how learners' parents voted during the 2017 elections," he added.
He challenged teachers at the school not to boycott classes, adding that students are future leaders.
"My plea to teachers in this school is that laziness will not yield good results in national exams. I will allocate funds to improve infrastructure in the school purposely to ensure learners are learning in a conducive environment," he stated.
