A section of MCAs from the party which controls the county's minority wing last week tried to oust the assembly Minority Leader David Ndakwa and Chief Whip Godfrey Ondiro.

In a letter signed by party Secretary General Barrack Muluka, the party has suspended Nominated MCA Jackline Okanya who is reportedly leading the rebellion.

The party has further directed that the latter who authored a letter declaring that the MCAs have made changes in the slots to appear before its disciplinary committee after 30 days.

“It has since come to our attention that you have not refrained from your chosen path of misconduct contrary to Article 50 of the party’s constitution.

"Within the next 30 days you will be summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee and an appropriate action taken,” the letter read as quoted by Standard.

In a quick rejoinder, Okanya termed the directive as questionable, wondering why the party picked only her from the rest of her colleagues.

“I have seen the letter circulating on social media and I have not been served. Why are they targeting me alone and yet my letter has signatures of fellow ward reps who approved the changes at the assembly affecting minority leadership?” she wondered.

The group on Wednesday disrupted house business by keeping off the chambers.

This comes only days after the party expelled its nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi over claims of defying the party and joining the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
