A section of youths allied to Tangatanga movement have vowed to provide enough security during Deputy President William Ruto's Friday trip to Nyamira.
There were reports that Interior Ministry had banned police and provincial administration officials from attending the function, even though County Commissioner Amos Mariba has denied knowledge of such instructions.
"I am not aware of such plans. As presidential official, we are privy to the visit and no communication has been issued against it. Let's learn to shun propaganda," he said.
Dr Ruto will be fundraising for several SDA churches in Mokomoni District, an event that is being hosted by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.
Several youths allied to the DP have vowed to ensure ample security is provided, with youth leader Ben Nyaribo saying preparations have been made to ensure success in the function.
"They are free to take their security. We shall ensure that several youths are deployed to guard the function until the DP leaves. Acts of desperation should be discouraged," he said.
Sammy Charana, another youth within Nyamira Township, argued that anti-Ruto team will not be allowed to step into the function no matter any attempt to do so.
"We shall be vigilant. Those who may try to sneak in to cause trouble are not welcome. We shall all ensure that only loyal supporters and party members attend," he said.
