A bodaboda rider is currently fighting for his life at RAM hospital in Kisii county after he was allegedly stabbed by thugs.
The incident happened on Monday night at Nyangoso market, Kisii County.
Emmanuel Nyabwari is said to have been hired to ferry two men towards Kenyenya route at 9 pm when the incident happened.
Confirming the incident Kisii county police commander Martin Kibet said the victim was stabbed by the thugs on the head.
"The victim was lucky to survive the stab. The thugs pretended to be customers only to turn against him and stab him on the head before the stole the motorbike," said Kibet.
He said Nyabwari's mouth was also injured during the ordeal.
Kibet said other bodaboda riders found the victim lying down in a pool of blood unconscious and rushed him to hospital.
"Were it not for the other riders who found the victim on the roadside he could have died. Riders need to be vigilant to ensure the customers they are ferrying are real," he stated.
The commander said the victim is responding well to medication and assured that police are hunting down the thugs who escaped towards Kenyenya.
