A former MP aspirant has refuted claims by Church leaders that Kenya's problems are brought by the devil.
Mwangi who unsuccessfully vied for the Nairobi's Starehe MP seat during the August 8 general election said on Wednesday that the claim by clerics is misleading, must be reviewed and Kenyans told the truth.
Contrary to the claim, the human rights activist says Kenya's problems are a result of the stealing of taxpayers money by greedy leaders occupying public office who he said Kenyans should out-rightly reject.
"You are poor because of Satan, the pastors say. But the devil is not to blame for our poverty," he said in a tweet.
"The devil has not grabbed land or stolen public money. He does not occupy public office. He is that crooked thief who steals our taxes and wallows in the fat of the land while we bleed."
Mwangi made the remark at a time Kenya is battling run-away corruption which threatens efficient service delivery and development in general across the country.
The recent of such graft incidents was a case in which the taxpayer lost a whole Sh10 billion in irregular payments to companies claimed to have supplied goods and services to the National Youth Service.
It emerged later that such goods and services were not delivered and such companies did not exist.
