The Vice President of Cuba Ines Maria Chapman has lavished praises on Kenya for the reception accorded to the Cuban doctors who are working in the country.
Chapman who paid a courtesy call on the Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka said Cuba is at the peak of ensuring they deepen ties with Kenya on Agriculture and biotechnology development.
"My delegation and I had the opportunity to engage with Cuban doctors working in Kenya's 47 counties. We thank your Government for the support they continue to extend and for the opportunity availed to positively impact the local communities," H.E Chapman said in a statement shared by the Parliament of Kenya.
Early last year, the Kenyan government sought the services of the Cuban doctors following the prolonged strike by the Kenyan doctors and were deployed all over the 47 counties.
Speaker Ken Lusaka recognized the role Cuba is playing to support Kenya's revolution agenda by training doctors.
"We appreciate the ongoing training for Kenyan doctors in Cuba and the direct contribution by the Cuban doctors to the health of our citizens," said Lusaka.
Among Kenyan leaders present when the Cuban Vice President of the council of state and ministers were, Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Senator Johnston Sakaja and Senator Michael Mbito.
