Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has pledged to work closely with the Ministries of Tourism and Environment to make the city clean.
The Governor disclosed that his administration will partner with Cabinet Secretaries Najib Balala and Keriako Tobiko in decommissioning Kibarani dump site among other issues of mutual concern specifically on the Mombasa County Rejuvenation Plan.
He said the two ministries are crucial towards relocation of the once eyesore dump site whose decommissioning exercise is in progress as the County government seeks to turn the area into a recreational ground.
Speaking when he met Balala and Tobiko at his Mombasa offices, Joho welcomed the closer working ties between the County and National Governments for the betterment of Mombasa as a the gateway to Kenya.
The trio also held bilateral talks that focused on promoting tourism through product diversification and enhancing visitor experience in destination Mombasa.
