The group which consists parliament staff had been charged with plotting to defraud the parliament a sum of Sh70 million, crimes allegedly done between July 2013 and June 30, 2016.

They are Benjamin Njagi (Stores), George Arum (Internal Audit), Alloys Tinenga (Stores), David Mulinge (Procurement), Keith Musyoka (Procurement), Mary Gachinga (Accountant) and Samuel Otieno (Finance Director).

They on Tuesday appeared before Court of Appeal judges William Ouko Otieno Odek and Milton Mukhandia who discharged the senior staff.

The judges upheld a March 2, 2017 ruling by High Court Criminal Division Judge Ngeche Macharia that dismissed the nine charges pressed against the group.

“It’s on this premise that we allow the appeal, set aside the ruling and order of the High Court dated March 2, 2017,” said the bench in its ruling, according to the People Daily.

The group's charges include abuse of office, conspiracy to commit a felony and and creating a document without authority, through which the DPP wanted action legal taken against him.

Haji had moved to the court of appeal after his initial blow.
