Kisumu Governor Professor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o is among several leaders who have sent out messages following a terror attack at the Dusit D2 hotel in Riverside, Nairobi.

Nyong’o condemned the attack and wished a quick recovery to those injured.

He showed praise to the security officers for bravery and dedication in dealing with the situation on the ground.

“I join the world in condemning the dastardly #DusitAttack. My sincere condolences go to those who have lost their loved ones, wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. We salute our men and women in uniform for their bravery as they continue to contain the situation. God Bless Kenya,” reads his message posted on his Facebook page.

Amani National Congress (ANC) Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale are a section of Kenyans whose kin were trapped within the area.

Mudavadi’s son, Khalwale’s daughter and Vihiga County Women Representative Beatrice Adagala’s son were saved in the on-going police operation.

Mudavadi said that Kenyans should support security forces, commending them for their swift action.

Reports indicate that over 100 have been rescued from different buildings in the Dusit hotel complex.

About 30 people were rescued at the 3 am while others were rescued at different times of the night.
