Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has responded after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho sued him for defamation.
This comes after the High Court on Tuesday summoned Ichung'wah, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi after they linked the ODM deputy party leader to drug trafficking.
Ichung'wa took to his official Facebook page on Tuesday where he hit out at the Mombasa county boss and further accused him of fraudulently obtaining his academic papers.
"This D- fraudster thinks we are like him? Bring it on but deal with your criminality with the relevant authorities. KNEC confirmed academic papers were fraudulent and I Hope DCI is on that case. Criminals are criminals," read Ichung'wa Facebook post.
Joho had earlier demanded an apology from the politicians who accused him of engaging in the illicit drug trade.
The politicians in question held separate press briefings where they alleged that Governor Joho is a drug lord who uses his position to advance his business and cover up illegal drug trafficking dealings.
Joho, however, dismissed the claims, terming the remarks by the three politicians as malicious and untrue. The outspoken governor further argued that the trio was seeking to gain political relevance by fighting him.
