Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko now says that he is the most 'clean' politician and leader when it comes to matters of integrity in the country.
The governor claims that his integrity cannot be questioned, adding that he has never taken part in corrupt dealings.
According to Sonko, he can account for every penny and all the property he owns.
“I am the cleanest politician in the country, in Africa and even the world,” the Nairobi Governor said in an interview with Mile FM.
Sonko said that he was taught how to do clean business, adding that attempts by city cartels to taint his character and image will not work.
He assured Nairobians that he will account for every penny allocated to him, adding that county officials who engage in corruption will be dealt with accrodingly.
Governor Sonko said that he will not fear exposing corrupt county officials.
On Wednesday, a survey by research firm Ipsos Synovate polled Deputy President William Ruto as the most corrupt leader in the country.
The poll also rated Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as the second most corrupt leader.
DP Ruto and Governor Waiguru have since rubbished the report terming it a political propaganda with Waiguru threatening to sue the research firm.
