It is an open secret that Silas Tiren, the Moiben Member of Parliament has been among a few Jubilee legislators openly criticizing the government.

His ‘beef’ with the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration is in relation to the way farmers have been treated.

Tiren is a strong defeder of farmers and has been vocal on their issues even before he was elected to the National Assembly in 2013.

Despite being elected on a Jubilee ticket, the two-time legislator who has since been branded as a rebel Jubilee MP seems to be leaning to a different direction ahead of 2022.

It’s clear that Deputy President William Ruto will be flying Jubilee’s flag in 2022 but with a talk of KANU also presenting its presidential candidate, there is a likelihood of DP Ruto facing off with his brother the current Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

For Tiren, it seems he would be supporting Senator Moi. Though he has not openly declared his support for the son of retired President Daniel Moi, as they say 'actions speak louder than words'.

Ever since being stripped of the National Parliament Agriculture Committee chairmanship post, Tiren has been seen on several occasions with Moi, the KANU chairman.

On two or three occasions, the legislator was among the few who have visited Mzee Moi’s Kabarak home. Just recently during the inaugural ‘Senate Mashinani’ Tiren arrived at a Senate public forum with Senator Moi and even sat next to each other.

As the saying goes, ‘mwenye macho haambiwi tazama’ could it be that Tiren has already decamped to KANU? Is he planning to defend his seat on the KANU ticket? Will he survive the DP Ruto influence in the Rift Valley? For answers to all those questions, time will tell.
