A 30-year-old man in Matanya Lamu has committed suicide for suspecting his wife was cheating on him.
Residents of Matanya on Tuesday woke up to the shocking news after the diseased hung himself after a quarrel with his wife.
Philip Ngugi is said to have committed suicide after finding out that his wife had been cheating on him.
The father of two had gone missing for two months.
A villager Emmanuel Wanyoike told the Nation that his body had been found hanging on a tree, few meters from his homestead.
“He had gone missing for almost two months. He just resurfaced recently only to commit suicide. We are aware of the misunderstandings with his wife. He has been accusing his wife of infidelity. We suspect that has led him to commit suicide,” Mr. Wanyoike said.
Mpeketoni Officer commanding police Division (OCPD) Christopher Limo confirmed the accident saying that police are investigating the matter.
“It’s true. There is a man who has committed suicide this morning and police are already at the scene. We suspect it’s a matter involving domestic squabbles. We are investigating and if there is a third party involved, we will arrest and interrogate them,” Limo noted.
