Police in Migori county have launched a manhunt for a man accused of killing his brother on Wednesday night.
Nyakemwa Wanjogu reportedly hacked his 40-year-old brother Nyabuch Chana using a jembe at their home in Masaba area.
The incident was confirmed by Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge, who said that the suspect has since fled after committing the said crime.
The police boss said that preliminary investigations indicated that the murder followed an argument between the two.
However, he noted that they are yet to find out what caused the scuffle.
He said that the victim sustained serious injuries after being hit repeatedly on the head and was rushed to Kehancha Hospital by neighbours, adding that he succumbed to his injuries at midnight.
Nthenge said that the police are pursuing the suspect. Chana's body was moved to the Migori Level Four Hospital Morgue pending burial.
