A man beat his wife after she allegedly changed television station when he was glued watching the arrival of former US President Barack Obama on Sunday at Kiogoro in Kisii County.
Daniel Ayienda is said to have attacked his wife, Millenct Bosibori after she picked a television remote and changed the channel.
“Ayienda was watching the arrival of Obama on Sunday which was being aired live on KTN television when his wife came and changed to the channel to Sayare television to watch gospel music,” said Abel Mokua, a neighbor.
Mokua said Ayienda was furious so he picked a walking stick and hit his wife from the back for interfering.
“Bosibori sustained injuries on her back and right hand as she was blocking the attack from her husband. She fled from the house crying in pain accusing her husband for being violent,” he noted.
Area assistant chief Jacob Maonda said the woman reported the assault to his office before she went to a local private hospital for treatment.
“I have summoned the man to appear in my office tell why he had to attack his wife after changing the television channel. Violence against women must stop,” he noted.
