President Uhuru Kenyatta is not respecting the judiciary, Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has said.
In a tweet on Friday, the activist said that is evident that the President doesn’t respect the court system and he expects them to serve Kenyans.
While citing the case of the suspension of East Africa MagistratJues and Judges Secretary General Bryan Khaemba, who later resigned from his position, Miguna said that the executive has been influencing decisions of the Judiciary.
He claimed that the Judiciary is no longer an independent body as it is expected if the current constitution is anything we can go by.
"The President of Kenya referred to the President of the Supreme Court and other judges as "wakora." He made veiled threats against the judges on their decisions... The same threats have been repeated at State House today. The President must have respect the judiciary,” he said.
President Kenyatta referred to the Supreme Court as Wakora after the nullification of his win the August 2017 General election. The commander in chief of the forces also said that his Jubilee side had planned to revisit the matter.
“Maraga na hao watu wake wakora wamesema basi uchaguzi ipotee? Si ndivyo wamesema? Sasa mimi tena sio mtarajiwa! Mimi ni rais ambaye amekalia kiti’ he said.(Maraga and his crooks have said that the election is nullified. That is what they have said. Now I am not the president designated but the President in power).
