Led by Stephen Muli, the leaders under the banner Mbaitu said this was the perfect opportunity for Kalonzo to unite the community and effectively lobby for development projects.

According to Muli, the spirited moves have come at the right time adding that political leaders should now align their parties on ideology rather than tribal lines.

Muli on Wednesday called on the leaders to shift focus to the big four agenda and keep off succession politics to allow the country to recover from the economic shock suffered due to last year’s prolonged politicking period.

The leaders said the country has always been equipped to serve the needs of all Kenyans and spur economic progress, but rampant and systematic corruption has been a major hindrance to the achievement of this goal.

Mbaitu Secretary Clementine Muli called for more efforts from the political and business leadership to devolve the handshake in a bid to unite communities in areas where rifts had developed.

On his part, Nakuru Business Association chairman Mwangi Muchemi pointed out that some politicians have been using politics to disadvantage other sectors terming them selfish.

Mwangi urged President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, and Kalonzo to avoid being swayed by leaders who thrive in divisive politics saying their unity is not going down well with all politicians.
