Passengers headed to Nairobi from Nakuru were on Sunday robbed after the vehicle they were traveling in was hijacked.
According to reports, the ordeal lasted three hours with the thugs brandishing guns.
Passengers from the ill-fated vehicle were later dumped near Naivasha town before reporting the matter to the local police.
Police records indicate that the four robbers boarded the matatu in Nakuru town disguising themselves as passengers. T
The thugs are said to have sat strategically; two of them in the front seat, from where they later took control of the vehicle near Naivasha town.
Passengers said that the thugs asked the driver to stop the vehicle so that they could respond to the call of nature before going on a robbery spree.
The driver was ordered out of his seat and the vehicle driven off the highway to where the passengers were beaten and robbed.
Police are investigating the matter.
