Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Peter Kenneth has come under heavy criticism from a section of Kenyans on social media for allegedly being involved in corruption while working at the Kenya Reinsurance Corporation (KenyaRe).
This came hours after the former finance director at KenyaRe John Faustina Kinyua was sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment for fraudulent acquisition of KenyaRe’s property.
A section of the Kenyans on Twitter believe Peter Kenneth was the mastermind behind the corruption scandal at KenyaRe while Kinyua was used as a sacrificial lamb.
They asked for proper investigations to be carried out into the scandal to unmask the real perpetrators.
Some of the netizens reflected back to when Miguna Miguna accused Peter Kenneth of bankrupting KenyaRe during the gubernatorial race in 2017.
The controversial politician had back then during the gubernatorial debate claimed that the former Gatanga MP was the reason why KenyaRe collapsed.
Kenneth who stepped out of the limelight after losing in the Nairobi gubernatorial race has not yet officially commented on the allegations.
