Land is a precious resource. The family of the founding father of the nation Mzee Jomo Kenyatta owns tracts of land across the nation. A local daily records that Kenyatta himself owned only about a half-dozen properties covering roughly 4,000 hectares. The said land is found in Kiambu and Rift Valley. It is also revealed that his wife, Mama Ngina, the mother of the current President Uhuru Kenyatta is an owner of at least 115,000 hectares. The said land includes a 13,000 hectare located across the nation making her one of the wealthiest Kenyans.
In an interview with BBC, President Uhuru Kenyatta dismissed claims that his father acquired land through unconstitutional means. He also said that he was ready to have the land invested including that owned by his ancestors. 12. 40,000 acres in Endebes in the Rift Valley Province
