An angry son attacked his mother accusing her of sending him a snake in suspected witchcraft on Thursday at Ibeno in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County.
Samuel Morira said his mother, Rose Nyaboke, threatened to bewitch him after he opposed her proposal to sell the family’s piece of land.
"I opposed her plans to sell the piece of land so she threatened to bewitch me and living true to her words she sent a snake to my house but, I killed it before I raided her house and beat her up,” he said.
Morira said he is not going to succumb to witchcraft blackmail and intimidation from his mother.
Area chief, Richard Mong’arora, said he was aware of the plans to sell the family land.
“I am aware of the wrangles in the family since the woman wants to sell a piece of land. No one is going to support her in selling the piece of land,” he said.
The administrator called on children to stop beating up their parents but, instead engage local government representatives and elders to solve family problems.
