The Ford Kenya party boss' name came unto the image following the emergence of a leaked phone conversation allegedly between him and Dubai royal family representative Ali Zandi.

The latter who returned from Hong Kong in China on Sunday has since been summoned to appear before the detectives on Wednesday, to shed more light into the matter which is slowly turning into a political debate.

In the clip, a voice that has been confirmed to be that of the senator is also heard incorporating opposition leader Raila Odinga, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's names into the scandal.

He is trying to explain to the angry businessman that the individuals have met in a bid to free the product, allegedly held at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and send it over to Dubai.

“I am a hundred per cent sure there is no problem and tell Sheikh not to panic. We are finishing this matter and we will come and toast together,” he explains to Zandi, who in turn warns that a flop would be disastrous for both parties.

Raila has since come out to distance himself from the deal, terming himself an innocent whistleblower whose only fault was to alert the buyer that a fake Matiang'i voice was wing used in the said deal to con him.

President Uhuru has remained silent, in a deal where the names of controversial businessmen Jared Otieno and Zaheer Jhanda have been implicated.
