Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa has once again lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga for their March 9 2018 ceasefire.
Speaking on Mjadala Wa Taifa on Radio Citizen Thursday morning, the parliamentarian noted that the two are serious and committed on their pact.
He recalled confirming the same when he visited Uhuru at Statehouse over the same in the company of Raila, days after the handshake.
"When I visited him at the Statehouse I found out that the President is not joking. He is very serous about the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative," he said.
Aladwa doubles up as a close ally of Raila and the Chair of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Nairobi county.
He said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) founded after the truce to among others, establish a lasting remedy for the recurrent political and social wrangles and disagreements, is the solution to political and social issues.
"The train has left the station. The two leaders are very serious and will not be derailed by anything," he added.
Both Uhuru and Raila have also confirmed that they will stick together and not pay attention to opposed forces trying to prevent their union.
