Several high profile personalities have been arrested over links to corruption scandals in the country, with the latest being Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.

Mwilu was on Tuesday afternoon arrested at the Supreme Court over alleged graft. She was taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for questioning before she was later arraigned in court.

Others who have been arrested over graft claims include Kenya Power CEO Ken Tarus over claims of irregular awarding of tenders, former Nairobi Governor Dr Evanis Kidero and National Land Commission (NLC) chair Muhammad Swazuri.

Addressing journalists concerning Mwilu's arrest, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji reiterated his commitment to fighting graft, adding that no one linked to corruption will be spared.

"Over the last few months, there have been concerted efforts to fight corruption and economic crimes in the country that seriously deny the provision of basic necessities to the citizenry and affect development. The fight has seen several high ranking officials and entities charged with various offences including asset forfeiture and confiscation," said the DPP.

The DPP's efforts in fighting graft has captured the attention of Kenyans, with a section of Kiambu residents praising him for executing his mandate without fear and favour. Here are some of the reactions.
