He met Kisumu County Government top officials, among them Deputy Governor (DG) Dr. Mathew Owili.

The leaders discussed areas for possible partnerships, engagement and investment, among them poultry farming, export of agricultural products, milk processing, as well as irrigation to ensure food security within the county.

The DG said that the County Government of Kisumu is willing to donate land to development partners, who will come on board to take Kisumu to the next level.

He said that most investment opportunities available will require the support of development partners.

"Most of these things are not things the government can do alone, we need partners to succeed," he said in a press statement released after the meeting.

In his address to the County leadership, Dr. O'Neill stated that Kisumu is one of the few counties the Ireland government has identified to partner with.

Dr. Obiero Ogone (Education), Alice Moraa (Trade), Mr. Richard Ogendo (Planning) and Gilchrist Okuom (Agriculture) are some of the County Executives who attended the meeting.

Head of Special Delivery Unit George Omondi was also in attendance.
