Mr. Wetangula, who was ousted as Senate Minority Leader, added that should the statement stand, then it should be attributed to ODM party.

"Let me make it clear that NASA or Ford Kenya has not issued any statement to 8% VAT.

"Such a statement can only be attributed to ODM which has since joined Jubilee. We are standing with the people of Kenya," he said.

At Orange House, Raila led a PG attended by NASA legislators in which they pledged to offer conditional support to President Uhuru Kenyatta's memorandum on the Finance Bill.

But National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi insisted that Wetangula was speaking out of blues since his MPs had attended.

"Sometimes I really wonder why Wetangula behaves as such. He knows well his MPs attended and pledged to support the proposal. After all he had quit NASA."

Early this year, Wetangula insisted that NASA had collapsed adding that Raila was no longer the oppostion leaders.

MPs are expected to vote for or against Uhuru's memorandum which has proposed budget cuts to various departments following a shortage in 2018/19.

Among those affected are members of executive, parliament and disbursements to county governments.
