Outspoken businessman Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki has joined dozens of other leaders in eulogising the late Jonathan Moi, the eldest son of retired President Daniel Arap Moi.
In a post on his Facebook post, he said the outspoken politician noted that “Sad to learn of the demise of Jonathan T. Moi. The son to former president Daniel Moi and a celebrated rally sportsman who evokes thrilling memories of the 1990s rally expeditions: I pass my sincere condolences to the entire Moi family. We grieve and pray with you during these hard times. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Jonathan succumbed to a long battle with cancer at a Nakuru Hospital on Friday evening.
The news of his demise left scores of people in Kabimoi village, Eldama Ravine shocked.
The news of Jonathan’s death was confirmed by a statement sent to the press by his brother who doubles up as Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
Part of the statement read: “We the family of H.E Mzee Moi confirm the sad news on the passing on of Jonathan Toroitich. Jonathan will be remembered for his daring exploits in the racing tracks, in muddy and dusty tracks, during this time of Easter."
Moi’s family pleaded with Kenyans to remain calm. Besides, the family said in the press release that it will continue updating Kenyans on the burial arrangements.
