An accountant working with the Nandi County Government has been found dead in unclear circumstances.

The woman is said to have booked into an Eldoret-based hotel on Tuesday but failed to check out on Wednesday.

When the hotel’s management went to check on her, she was found dead in the room.

It is not clear if she spent the night with someone or alone.

Police were notified of the incident and cordoned off the room as a crime scene.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing as the body was taken to the mortuary.
