Most nights have been normal for many people but it is a different situation to a man from Kapseret in Uasin Gishu county. For Timothy Chesire, he must sleep with a woman beside him to avoid attack by demons.
In an interview with a local radio station, Timothy said that he has been sleeping with a partner, preferably a woman for many years to avoid what he claims it is demons."I have been sleeping with someone beside me since my primary school days," he says.He claims that it all started when his grandmother told him that, his grandfather had promised before his death that he will be coming to greet him, because of the love he had for him. "From then, when I sleep alone, visions of strangers visit me at night and thoroughly beats me up," lamented Chesire who also claimed that five years ago he was attacked and thoroughly beaten up by strangers at night, who at first he thought were thugs."I was beaten and when I called for help, they disappeared, then I realized that they were demons," he said. The 29-year-old man said that his wife is much aware of his situation and has allowed him to sleep with women whenever he has travelled away from home to avoid attacks by 'demons'.Chesire said that he doesn't attend church nor funerals as corpses usually scare him at night. "I was a member of Full Gospel church but I stopped attending church and prayed in my house because those who were leading us were hypocrites and whenever they prayed for me, the more the demons attack at night," he claimed.
