The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared Ahmed Kolosh for the Wajir West by-election.
Kolosh presented his academic papers to the IEBC at Giriftu in Wajir Town on Tuesday and issued with clearance certificate to contest.
Addressing residents at Giriftu grounds, Kolosh pleaded with residents to vote for him in the April 25 mini-poll.
The former MP who is contesting the by-election on Jubilee Party ticket promised to spearhead development if he is elected.
He promised to upgrade Giriftu Livestock Training Institute in push to create emeployment for the youth.
Kolosh also pledged to oversee construction of a power station in Arbajahan town.
He said that majority residents are not connected to power.
The former legislator further pledged to equip public primary and secondary schools.
He urged his supporters to remain peaceful and come out in large numbers to vote on April 25.
Kolosh lost the seat when the Supreme Court nullified his election on grounds it was not free and fair.
The former MP ditched Raila Odinga led ODM Party days after losing the seat.
Kolosh will battle out with professor Yusuf Elmi, Abdirahman Mohamed, Daudi Mohamud and others in the by-election.
