The MoU is set to introduce a new curriculum unit called HURI 100 (Human Rights) to Kisii University law students.

“This will in turn put smiles on all faces particularly to the endangered group which is made up of children, women and the elderly,"  said Akama.

According to Dr. Mogesa, Kisii University is the 3rd university in Kenya to sign this MOU after the University of Nairobi and Laikipia University.

“In this unit law students will learn about legislation policies of both the national government and the senate," added Mogesa.

The KNHCR CEO further revealed that a Human Rights center will be set up in the Varsity. He promised to promote joint fundraising events in the University so as to well develop the School of Law of the university.

Mogesa emphasized on imparting knowledge about human rights through public lectures and other platforms.
