Khaemba was on Thursday suspended by the CJ after he was found to have wrongly issued an anticipatory bail to area Governor Ferdinand Waititu, who is facing corruption charges.

This was after the magistrate was found to have issued the ruling at a time when he was supposed to be on leave, resulting to his suspension on grounds of alleged misconduct.

The former Subukia lawmaker now says that two orders were involved in the case; Khaemba's and Maraga's, which he observed might have been influenced by outside forces.

He disagreed with the county boss' bail, suspecting that favouritism might have been involved in a bid to save Waititu, moments after his arrest by Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) officers.

"Nafikiri kwamba mtu akitazama maamuzi haya, yapo maamuzi mawili, moja ya Khaemba aliyetoka likizo kuona kwamba amemuokoa rafiki yake Waititu, naye Maraga aliyepata elekezo kuhakikisha kwamba Waititu haponyoki. (I think by looking at these rulings, there are two of them, one by Khaemba who came from leave to ensure that he saves his friend Waititu and the one by Maraga who received directions to ensure that Waititu does not slip off)," Koigi said.

The former MP who was speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show on Saturday said that the entire issue points at a rotten judiciary, especially on the side of the magistrate.

"Namwona Khaemba kama mtu aliyeingia katika kina cha ufisadi. (I see Khaemba as a person deeply involved in corruption)," he opined.

Khaemba has since resigned from the position, terming his suspension letter a technical dismissal.
