Bonchari MP John Oyioka has broken his silence after he was publicly humiliated by angry locals at Ngeri village in Riana ward.
The heckling started after the MP took credit of ongoing road construction projects in the area, something that angered the locals.
He condemned the locals of Ngeri for accepting handouts from his rivals to humiliate him.
"The people of Ngeri need to know that no amount of blackmail or intimidation will make me succumb. Even if they will follow me to heckle me whenever I go, I will not look back on matters development," he said.
He said despite the fact that Ngeri area is perceived to be the former MP John Opore's stronghold, he has every right to visit the area and share with locals.
According to Oyioka, locals who heckled him were paid by his 'confused' rivals to achieve a hidden agenda.
The legislator appealed to local youths to ignore politicians who are out to use them to get political mileage.
"Bonchari youths need to wake up and ensure no one buys them alcohol to interfere with the constituency leadership. What happened at Ngeri should not repeat itself again," he stated.
