In an interview on Radio Jambo's 'Mazungumzo Waziwazi' show on Saturday morning, Mwaura took issue with Waititu's anti-brew campaign.

The former Ruiru parliamentary hopeful bashed the Governor for sidelining other more important issues, resulting in poor development and service delivery in the county.

"Tunataka viongozi wenye maono na sio wanaoleta mambo yasiyostawisha wananchi wetu (we need visionary leaders with good ideas for the betterment of the county)," he said.

Mwaura said that Waititu's activities are also a negative on the side of President Uhuru who hails from the same county, adding that he (Uhuru) has nothing to be proud of.

He gave an example of a recent event that saw Uhuru launch a number of roads during his tour of Kisumu County on Thursday, but had only a graduation of rehabilitated drunks to preside over during his recent tour of Kiambu.

"Ni aibu Rais akienda Kisumu anafungua mabarabara na hospitali lakini akija kwao Kiambu anafungua mambo ya ulevi na pombe. (It's shameful that Uhuru launches roads and hospitals in Kisumu but is forced to launch things to do with alcoholism in his Kiambu backyard)," he added.

Uhuru presided over the graduation of over 77 rehabilitated alcoholics at the Mama Care Rehabilitation Center at Wanyunyu School in Kiambu earlier in the month.
