Deputy President William Ruto has earned himself the moniker Mr Money Bags as he is the number one politician in Kenya who moves around dishing millions in harambees.
On Monday, Bill, as close buddies call him, left many in shock after he carried a whopping Sh10 million in a laptop bag to a goat auction.
Ruto was in Kajiado where he was hosted by Governor Joseph ole Lenku.
The DP said he had been sent by his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, to buy him 700 goats.
As his, the President's mtu wa mkono, he also went deep into his pockets and bought his own 700 goats.
The total amount for these 1400 goats was Sh10 million.
As many waited for Bill to write a check or something for the purchase, he sent his PA for 'the bag'.
"Mdosi wangu anaitwa Uhuru Kenyatta; rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya. Na wale mnaojua, ako na dunia kubwa ya kulisha. So, mdosi ameniambia nimnunulie mbuzi mia saba. Hiyo ni shilingi millioni tano. Si ni namna hiyo?
Na mimi, kama mtu yake ya mkono, nanunua mbuzi mia saba; na hiyo ni shilingi millioni tano," he said.
The black bag had the millions.
“Take the money, I do not want any case filed against me,” the DP told Governor Lenku as he handed over the black bag full of millions.
