Speaking on NTV’s AM Live on Tuesday morning, Wamatangi revealed how he walked from home to school barefooted throughout his primary education period.

All this time, he said, he never owned even a single pair of trousers and would only get one in school uniform when he joined high school.

‘’I only wore shoes when I joined high school. Similarly, I only encountered my first trouser when I got my high school uniform having worn shorts all through,’’ he said.

After school, he worked as a bus driver for a transport company, a job that saw him drive among others former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

‘’I drove Khalwale as an entrepreneur. The bus was called Takinya,’’ he added.

This he said with regards to the heating debate surrounding Deputy President William Ruto, who is currently the main topic of discussion after a recent poll report ranked him the most corrupt Kenyan.

The lawmaker told off a section of politicians questioning the DP’s wealth, noting that he has the right to develop himself just like any other person.

‘’It is sad that we live in a country where one has to explain themselves for what they have. People should not be made to feel guilty for owning something,’’ he added.
