Elkana Omondi, a who was teaching at Migiro Primary School, was found dangling from the roof of his house on Wednesday morning.

The father of ten children, who was alone in the house at Nang'o Trading Center is said to have hang himself after the wife had left for the market.

Confirming the incident, Nyang'oma Assistant Commissioner Samson Akatch, said that neighbours were alerted of the incident by his wife who found him hanging from the roof upon her return.

According to two suicide notes he left behind, the deceased blamed his decision on being blamed for the disappearance of two laptops at the school.

He added that he had no means of paying for the gadgets he was being accused of stealing by fellow teachers.

“According to a note that was found next to his body, he indicated that there is nowhere he was going to get the laptops which he had not stolen,” Chief Akatch told the Standard.

The deceased used the second note to reveal the identities of his colleagues who made the theft allegations against him.

The administrator added that the late Elkana might have gone through massive depression which culminated to committing suicide.

“It was a case of suicide. He seemed to have several issues and I think he was depressed,” he added.

His body was moved to the Bondo Sub-County  Hospital morgue pending burial.
