Abdi, while condoling with families and friends who last their loved ones in the terror attack, urged Kenyans to help the government in the fight against terrorism.

Speaking to journalists in Wajir Town on Saturday, he said the war against terror will be effective if there are concerted efforts.

The governor rubbished claims that terrorism is a religious affair.

He hit out at critics who are blaming Muslims for perpetuating terror activities.

"The Islamic religion does not support terror activities as some people are speculating and Kenyans should ignore such thoughts by propagandists," Governor Abdi said.

The governor added, "Terrorists and anyone who supports them belong to hell."

He also appealed to Kenyans to embrace security initiatives being implemented by the government in efforts to fight the scourge of terrorism and other emerging crimes.

Investigations into the Dusit attack are on top gear with several suspects in police custody.

Anti-terror sleuths have extended the hunt for Dusit attack suspects to Ijara and Hulugho in Garissa.
