National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale criticised a section of Coast leaders for complaining about cabinet appointments.
Mr Duale, in 2015, said some Coast leaders are crybabies who spend time lamenting over appointments of the cabinet by President Uhuru Kenya.
Mr Duale claimed that a section of Coast leaders lack the development agenda and only complain about historical injustices and segregation by the government yet they are in the same government.
The Garissa Township MP, however, urged the leaders to focus on development issues for the residents to benefit.
“There is a culture of lamenting by political leaders especially in Mombasa just to please their masters. If you keep on lamenting as a leader, what do you expect of a common Mwananchi? Some leaders don’t have a plan since year one in office, all they do is complain even though they have the power to effect the change they want,” he said.
The Majority leader was reacting to accusations by the opposition that the Jubilee government had discriminated against Coast residents in the cabinet appointments.
Mr Duale further said that the Jubilee government had given over Sh100 billion to Muslim leaders from the coastal and northeastern region for development each year but coastal leaders are yet to show any meaningful development.
