Locals led by Jennifer Moraa claimed that motorists plying Suneka-Kisii town route are overcharging them despite the drop in motor fuel prices.

"Motorists are charging us Sh60 to and from Kisii town instead of Sh30. We want the national government to intervene to stop motorists from exploiting us," said Abigael Gesare.

Gesare who works at an M-Pesa shop in Kisii town said all her salary end on the road as fare.

"I'm unable to pay school fees for my daughter because all the money I receive as salary ends up on the road.  Motorists should be compelled to drop fare," she pleaded.

Hesbon Monari claimed that motorists have turned to be thieves.

"There is no way we can continue paying more on fare yet fuel prices are dropping every month. It is better ERC to hike fuel prices so that we can continue paying Sh60 from Suneka to Kisii and vice versa," said angered Monari.
