More than 30 people are spending nights in the chilling cold after their houses were razed down on Sunday night.
The furious fire broke out at Kasarani area, Turi ward in Molo, around 11 pm when families were asleep.
It destroyed six homes where owners were unable to salvage anything.
“We were asleep when we heard fire! Fire! And by the time we got out, things were so bad. All our property and documents were destroyed,” John Ndegwa said.
The cause of the fire was not yet established by the time of going to press.
Residents have asked the Nakuru County Government to ensure that the sub-county has a fire engine.
“We always pay for one thousand every time we are applying for business licenses, where does it go?” Benson Migwi asked.
According to Ruth Wanjeri, the area has been depending on a fire engine from Timsales during fire incidents.
“That is a private fire engine, Lee Kinyanjui should ensure we have one,” Wanjeri said.
The affected families called on the Nakuru county government and other well-wishers to come to their aid.
