Giving into peer pressure has been one of the things people tend to regret indulging in later in life.
Once you realize that you are uncomfortable when you participate in activities that you do not want to, be prepared to fight off peer pressure.
To deal and avoid getting into peer pressure, use these ways;
1. Say 'no' and mean it
Do not be enticed into doing what your friends are doing. Stand up, be firm and this will save you the drama and trouble that might result from it and will let them know you are not interested.
You can also distant yourself from them to avoid more trouble.
2. Choose positive friends
Choose friends who will be by your side all though and also anytime you stumble. These friends should accept who you are and help you in being the best you can.
You can also meet with people you realize have same interests as yours.
3. Make your own decisions
Take part in activities that make you happy and require your own decision. Do not allow your friends to make you decide on what they think is the best or based on what they want to do.
4. Ask for help
Once you notice that you might have fallen into the trap, it is better to share out and ask for assistance from close friends, relatives or even your mentor.
This will help before the situation runs out of control.
