Speaking at St Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Murang’a yesterday, during the funeral service for Senator Irungu Kang’ata’s mother Margaret Wangechi, Ruto said that Raila is known to speak a tune time for his selfish gains.

The second in command, who is considered one of the front-runners in the race for Presidency in 2022, faulted Raila for attacking Jubilee’s development projects as a scheme to block him from rising to power.

In a rare bare-knuckle attack, Ruto insisted that the Luo political kingpin, who has vowed to work together with Uhuru, has no good plans for the people of this nation.

He noted that Raila fought hard to block the Northern Water Collector Tunnel and claimed loss in Eurobond only to surface and claim that Pope Francis spoke to him from Vatican.

“This is someone who cannot be trusted. He was fighting Northern Water Collector Tunnel, said funds had been lost in Eurobond and now he is telling us that he talked to the Pope (Francis),” said Ruto, as quoted by Standard.

Ruto was responding to Raila’s claimed that the pope had rejected the car he gifted the Kisumu Archbishop, Philip Anyolo. The two leaders have also been exchanging bitter words over the alleged loss of Sh. 21 billions in dam’s scandal. Ruto has, however, maintained that no single coin is lost in the project.
