According to Dr Jamal Mungatana of Arabic Herbal Clinic in Eldoret town, a majority of diseases currently are as a result of poor eating habits.

Speaking in Eldoret town, Monday, Dr Mungatana pointed out a few tips on how one can ensure the food he/she eats is safe and will not cause him/her problems.

First, the herbal doctor cautioned against buying meat from unauthorized dealers. This, he said, will ensure meat one buys is from an animal that was slaughtered in the right way.

“Ensure the meat you buy has been inspected and approved by a Public Health officer. This is because when you eat meat from questionable outlets, you are likely to get one that was not properly slaughtered exposing yourself to the risk of eating meat from an animal that was killed whose meat is detoxified as the blood did not ooze out the right way,” explained Dr Mungatana.

Secondly, the herbal doctor advised against overeating. This is a crucial part as it enables the stomach to digest the food in the right way.

“Always ensure you divide your stomach into three parts when eating, eat but remember to leave space for water to dilute the food and another space for breathing in and out,” he says.

Dr Mungatana further warns against eating too much of food that has been planted with a lot of chemicals. This kind of food he says has a lot of chemicals which are the genesis of all the diseases in the likes of cancer.

“Mix meat with a lot of vegetables. When you eat food that has a lot of sugar be sure to add fruits with a lot of water like cucumber and watermelon which helps in diluting the sugar,” he noted.

“Food is the start of all the diseases, if you follow the right eating habits, all these diseases we are experiencing today will be a thing of the past. If you want to be healthy, make sure your stomach is healthy,” added the Eldoret herbalist.
