Jubilee Members of the Uasin Gishu County Assembly have resolved to remove Jenny Too as the deputy leader of the majority.
The resolution was reached following a meeting of the Jubilee MCAs on Wednesday.
Reasons for the removal of Too, the daughter of former powerful politician the late Mark Too are yet to be revealed.
Surprisingly the decision comes at a time the nominated MCA is in Accra, Ghana, attending Young Women Legislators Conference.
According to a letter to the Assembly’s Speaker David Kiplagat dated July 25, 2018, the decision to remove Too from her position shall be communicated to the Jubilee party.
“This is to inform you that Jubilee Party members held a meeting on July 25, 2018, in line with the party constitution and resolved that Hon. Jenny Too be removed from the position of deputy majority leader – Jubilee party in Uasin Gishu County Assembly,” reads part of the letter signed by Assembly’s deputy majority whip, Gilbert Tenai.
“The party shall be notified of the decision in order for a date, place and time to fill the vacant position,” it added.
Reached for a comment over the matter, Assembly’s leader of majority Josphat Lowoi said he was not part of the meeting and declined to diverge more information.
“The Speaker is the best person to get detailed information over this matter,” said Lowoi in a phone interview.
The Speaker, however, did not reply a message sent to him inquiring over the MCAs decision.
